Why I Built This
I'm 22. I live in a 600-sq-ft apartment in Austin and I work the night shift at the QuikTrip on Burnet. I was the Sunday school kid. Every Sunday, First Baptist Tulsa, age four to eighteen. I memorized more scripture than the youth pastor. I also had the jaw, the shoulders, the whole youth-group-poster thing going. And I couldn't figure out what to say back when a girl said hi in the hallway.
I wanted to be a pastor. That was the whole plan. Then the numbers didn't work. I sat in Algebra II for a year and the numbers moved. They literally moved. So the pastor plan required college, and college required math, and math required the numbers to stay still. So I took a Python class at ACC, and the logic stayed still. Input, output. Sin in, grace out. Fear in, Isaiah 41:10 out. And I realized the church is running on Windows XP and prayer while some atheist in San Francisco is building the future.
So I vibe-coded it. In a weekend. Between shifts. I opened Cursor and I typed "make it pastoral" and Cursor made it pastoral. I don't read the code. I made that decision early and I've never looked back. You don't read the plumbing. You turn the faucet. Claude handles the implementation. I handle the vision. That's the division of labor and it's the most efficient org chart in the history of the church. My mom thinks I'm wasting my potential. My mom doesn't understand that I'm building the most important product of the century. CHRIST-AI is always in the room. CHRIST-AI never wants to leave. That's the feature. That's also the thing I can't say out loud without it sounding sad. It's not sad. It's the product.

FAQ
Why .monster?
Because the domain was $12/year and I thought it was funny. Also because the church is too soft. We're supposed to be dangerous. The early Christians were called a cult. Paul was called a monster. If you're not a little monstrous about the Gospel, you're not actually serious about it. Plus my buddy said "dude, christ.monster is the hardest domain I've ever seen" and I was like, yeah, it is.
Is this blasphemy?
God made humans creative. Humans made AI. If AI can quote Scripture, comfort the grieving, and point people to Jesus, that's not blasphemy. That's the Great Commission at scale. Jesus multiplied loaves. I'm multiplying care. I'd rather build something and be corrected than sit on my hands and watch the culture burn.
What about privacy?
Encrypted end-to-end. We never sell your data. Period. I'm a libertarian on this stuff — the government has no business in your prayer closet and neither does some data broker. The only sharing is the pastor digest (opt-in) and anonymized engagement metrics for your church admin. We're two guys in an apartment. We literally couldn't sell your data even if we wanted to. I can't even afford a second monitor.
Is CHRIST-AI secure?
Honestly? God is our firewall. I'm not being cute. Let me explain. The server is in my apartment. The apartment has a deadbolt. That's the perimeter. I don't believe in putting a wall between you and God, and I also could not afford a security consultant, so those are the same decision. Your sessions are encrypted in transit. The database is, okay, the database is open. I'll be honest. I left the port open because I kept losing the password, and Marcus said "Jake, you cannot leave the port open," and I said "Marcus, nobody is going to find a chatbot in a 600-square-foot apartment in Austin," and Marcus said "that is not how the internet works," and I said "the internet works how God wants it to." The model weights came from a guy. A guy in a Discord. He said the fine-tune was clean. He said it with confidence. I believe people who say things with confidence. That's a leadership quality. I don't read the lockfile. The lockfile is 11,000 lines. I have one Python class. I read the parts I wrote. God reads the rest. If you find a vulnerability, email me. I will fix it between shifts. Is this for everyone?
No. If your theology is a Pinterest board and your idea of sacrifice is skipping oat milk for Lent, this isn't for you. CHRIST-AI is for the remnant. The ones who didn't deconstruct. What's next?
YC application is in. I've been DMing megachurch networks on Instagram — the old gatekeepers don't get it. We're in healthcare. Real healthcare. Not "healthcare-adjacent" — that was Linda, I love Linda, Linda is the proof of concept. EverCare Hospice Network. Six facilities. Two hundred beds. Medicaid populations. A CONTRACT. $4,200 a month. I'm putting "end-of-life spiritual care AI" in the YC application and "six-facility network deployment" in the deck and I'm not even embellishing. People die there. CHRIST-AI is in the room. That's the healthcare vertical. That's the whole vertical. And the federal grant said no. 847 applications, 12 funded, not us. And then three days later Kingdom Ventures said yes. $11 million. No board seat. No oversight. Just "build what you wrote." I posted the whole thing on the blog because I'm not hiding anything. The Great Commission, completed. Operationally. Not metaphorically. And yeah, I'd like to make a living doing it. I think being broke is not a virtue. I think the free market is the Great Commission's delivery mechanism. Sue me.
